The UNIS Parents’ Association is dedicated to supporting the education and welfare of all UNIS students and fostering a diverse and vibrant community in conformity with the spirit and principles of the United Nations. All parents and guardians of UNIS students are members of the PA and eligible for election or appointment to its Executive Committee. The PA offers numerous ways in which all parents can get involved, which include open monthly meetings, morning coffees with principals, cultural evenings, and arts, music, and athletics events. Parent volunteers also serve as class parents and grade representatives, as members of Board of Trustees committees related to their expertise, and work with the Admissions Office to welcome new and prospective parents to the UNIS community. Every contribution large or small is important to building a cohesive and supportive UNIS community.
PA-sponsored events this year include US, Italian, and Persian cultural evenings, school-wide sports days, the Queens Campus Welcome Back to School picnic, the Junior School’s International Food Fair and Fun Day, the Middle School’s skating and ping pong parties, and the Tutorial House’s UN Day lunch and “Let’s Lunch” career information sessions.
