Parents of Alumni

Alumni are UNIS’ past, present and future – and the Parents of Alumni have been involved with UNIS as parent volunteer, support and help for UNIS and our students.

There is a new crop of parents of alumni every year and we want to keep the strong bond you have with UNIS alive and active. We want to hear from you, have you come and visit and have you share your memories of UNIS as a parent.

UNIS parents of alumni are an important part of UNIS’ history. You have lived the UNIS experience as a UNIS parent. You were able to live with your children in an ideal world where there was no distinction as to race, sex, language or religion. You experienced other foods, languages, traditions and cultures first hand in your classrooms and at other parent’s homes.

Over the years, UNIS may have changed it’s location, tweaked it’s curriculum, hired different teachers, and had different Directors but the original values and concepts that UNIS was founded on are the same. We encourage you to come back and visit and you will see how our school has grown and changed and how it has stayed the same.

We want you to keep in touch. This page is dedicated to you. Your stories and memories, your successes and changes will be published here as you provide us with updates and information. Many of our former parents keep in touch with one another, attend various school events, and participate in many school activities.

We hosted our first Parents of Alumni Reunion on March 20, 2008 and invited those of you with children who graduated from 2000 to 2007. It was an intimate group and felt like a true family reunion. We hope to grow this event and have you back every year to find one another and share your how your life has changed after UNIS.

The UNIS Alumni Association wants to know where you are and what you are doing. Please let us know and update your information when necessary so we can keep in touch with you. We also want you to know what UNIS is doing today and how you can be involved. If you have additional questions about our Alumni Association and parents of Alumni, please feel free to contact Michelle Fredj-Bertrand at 212-584-3142 or Elsa Aguayo at 212-584-3153 or by e-mail at alumni@unis.org. We look forward to being in touch!
