As part of the “greening” of UNIS, there is a deliberate move toward more electronic publications and less paper.
Assignments are more and more often made available online. Energy saving policies have been implemented and UNIS computers are configured to limit their use of electricity.
An E-learning environment, Moodle, is available for students and teachers through the UNIS web site. Many UNIS courses have an E-component with assignments and exercises available online. Students can submit assignments online as well.
The Manhattan Media Lab is a state of the art-media-production center that includes a small TV studio, a full-size computer lab dedicated to media studies, and a post production facility. The Media Lab is used to produce student and faculty media projects, to teach students multi-media skills, and to support classroom instruction. Student media "crews" support and document UNIS events.
