What is the Annual Fund?

  • The Annual Fund is a fund that houses all gifts in kind and monetary donations to the School.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide monies for additional support for financial aid, school equipment (laboratory, physical education, music, teaching resources, etc…), technology (infrastructure, computers, Activeboards, etc…), cultural programs (assemblies, exhibits, field trips, etc..) and any other expense that the School may incur outside of it’s operating expenses and budget.

Why does UNIS need an Annual Fund?

  • UNIS generates its operating revenue from tuition.
  • UNIS has consistently offered lower tuition than almost every other New York Independent School.
  • The School has been consistently fiscally responsible.
  • The Annual Fund covers the extra costs of programs and materials not included in the School’s budget.

How have we used the money raised from the Annual Fund?

The Annual Fund has provided the following:
  • Financial Aid
  • ActiveBoards throughout the School
  • Lap Top Computers
  • New Pianos & Other Musical Instruments
  • Funding for Music Programs including Orchestra and The UNIS Chamber Music Ensemble
  • Sports Team Uniforms
  • Authors & Artists Fees and Visits
  • Language Camps
  • UNIS-UN Conference Expenses
  • Field Trips
  • Theatre Upgrades
  • Funds for Individual Schools
  • And much more…
