Dr. Bamuwamye is an accountant and financial professional with over two decades of service both in Uganda and the United States including the United Nations Secretariat and UNEP. As a licensed financial advisor and independent consultant, Dr. Bamuwamye specializes in investments, financial planning, retirement planning, and college planning. In addition, she works to raise awareness in Africa and in African diasporan communities in the United States on the importance of the same. Dr. Bamuwamye has conducted extensive research in microfinance and financial inclusion and has used this expertise to launch financial literacy initiatives throughout Africa and the United States. 

Dr. Bamuwamye received her Bachelors in Business Administration from Messiah College, a dual MBA in Finance and Accounting from Eastern University, and is a Doctor of Management with a specialization in Microfinance Management. She is married with two children: Ruth, UNIS class of 2015 and Abigail, class of 2027. She is also a professional Christian music vocalist who has performed extensively across the globe, including at the Inauguration Ceremony of the President to the United Nations General Assembly during the 69th session: 2014-2015. She also volunteers her time conducting music therapy for critically ill children.
