UN Day is an exciting celebration unique to UNIS. Our students, faculty, and staff wear national attire representing their heritage to celebrate the entry into force of the UN Charter. A beloved tradition of the day is the mandala. All our junior school students make a wish for peace as they place a flower around the UN Flag, and parents take the 'wishes of peace' with them out into the community as they leave the school.
Our Junior School UN Day parade had an amazing turnout. Our community came together to watch our youngest students and enjoy our Tut House band. After the parade, our students broke off into different educational sessions throughout the day. At each level, they hold global citizenship discussions and lessons and think of ways to shape a better world. This UN Day marked 75 years of celebration at UNIS.
