Rika Okamoto

Rika Okamoto has over three decades of experience in performing arts and education, and brings extensive knowledge and passion to our community. Rika has worked as a director, educator, mentor, and dancer/performer in both film and Broadway. After growing up in Japan and completing her early education, she moved to the United States to join the Martha Graham Dance Company. She later joined the Twyla Tharp Dance Company and worked on Broadway as a dancer in Come Fly With Me, Tarzan and Movin’ Out. She’s been a guest lecturer in fine universities in both the US and the UK and offered master classes in schools throughout New York City. When her dancing career ended, she remained in the Twyla Tharp Organization as its Director of Education and in the roles of General Manager and Production Coordinator. Most recently, she has led the dance program at Concord Academy in Massachusetts.
