Director of Arts
Rika Okamoto brings over three decades of experience in the performing arts and education as a director, educator, mentor, and performer, sharing her extensive knowledge and passion with our community. After growing up in Japan and completing her early education, she moved to New York City to pursue a career in dance and performing arts, notably with the Martha Graham Dance Company and Twyla Tharp. Her Broadway and film credits include Movin’ Out, Tarzan, Come Fly Away, and Across the Universe.
She has been a guest lecturer at prominent universities and schools in both the U.S. and the U.K., as well as throughout New York City. She served the Twyla Tharp Organization as Director of Education and Rehearsal Director, while also working as General Manager and Production Coordinator. Most recently, she led the dance program at Concord Academy in Massachusetts.
