Our admissions procedures vary depending on grade level, and the lists below will show you how to apply. Applications for entry in September 2025 will be available on September 1. If you are interested in applying for entry in the 2024-25 school year, please note that many grades are full. Please contact the admissions office (admissions@unis.org) to confirm the status of the relevant grade(s) before beginning an application.
Prekindergarten to Fourth Grade

To begin the application process, create an account in Ravenna.
Through the Ravenna account, you will be able to submit the application, register for a tour and assessment, email a teacher recommendation form directly to your child’s teacher, submit any additional admissions materials, and check the status of your application.

Schedule the in-person student assessment by choosing one of the available days and times, as shown in the Ravenna calendar. Children will spend time in a Junior School classroom with a small group of other children. They will participate in age-appropriate activities while parents are invited to a panel discussion with UNIS teachers led by the Director of Admissions. There is no formal parent interview as part of the admissions process.

For Prekindergarten applicants: For students who apply by 15 November 2024, our admissions decisions will be sent to families on Thursday, 27 February 2025.
For Kindergarten applicants: For students who apply by 15 November 2024, our admissions decisions will be sent to families on Thursday, 6 February 2025.
For 1st to 4th grade applicants: For students who apply by 15 November 2024, our admissions decisions will be sent to families on Tuesday, 13 February 2025.
Fifth to Eighth Grades

Through the Ravenna account, you will be able to submit the application, register for a tour and a student interview, delegate teacher ISAAGNY forms directly to your child’s teachers, request school reports, submit any additional admissions materials, and check the status of your application.

Schedule the in-person visit and tour by choosing one of the available days and times, as shown in the Ravenna calendar. Students applying to grades 5 and 6 (M1 and M2) will do group activities and games during their visit, which will last approximately 45 minutes. Students applying to grades 7 and 8 (M3 and M4) are interviewed for approximately 30 minutes. A tour will either precede or follow the group activities/interview. Parents are not interviewed as part of the application process.

For students in the United States or Canada: All applicants should take the ISEE or SSAT, and they can do that online or at a Prometric testing center. For students applying in the regular application season (with applications due by 15 November 2024), we recommend that they take the test by the first of January 2025 in order for the test results to reach us by mid-January.
For students in other countries: All applicants should take the ISEE or SSAT, and they can do that online or at a Prometric testing center. If a student’s current school has administered the MAP or PSAT exam in the past year, applicants may submit these scores, as a substitute for the ISEE or SSAT.
