UNIS commits to observing each applicant in a classroom setting to ensure they will thrive in our community. Please use the calendar on Ravenna to select a date and time for an in-class evaluation. 

Junior school applicants will come in person to participate in classroom activities, during which UNIS staff will observe their interactions to confirm readiness for enrollment. At this time, parents will attend a live discussion with UNIS teachers, for there is no parent interview in the application process.

All Junior School applicants must submit the ISAAGNY Confidential Information Sheet. This will be completed by the applicant’s current teacher. Please fill out the required information in Ravenna to send the form to the correct teacher.

For all J2–J4 applicants, we also need the current school to send us report cards.

Supporting documents are due January 2027.

• Kindergarten applicants will receive their admissions decision on Feb 4th, 2027.

5th- and 6th-grade applicants will participate in group activities during their visit, which will last approximately 45 minutes.  

7th- and 8th-grade applicants will have an individual conversation with UNIS staff to confirm readiness for enrollment, which will last approximately 30 minutes. 

Most often, it is easiest for families to schedule these activities and interviews alongside a school tour.  Tours last approximately 45 minutes.

Please fill out the required information for the ISAAGNY Form, which will be completed by the applicant’s current teachers. Middle school applicants are also required to request official school reports. Supporting documents are due January 2027.

All applicants must take either the ISEE or SSAT online or through a Prometric testing center. It is recommended that applicants complete one of these exams before January 2027 to ensure a timely application. 

However, if an applicant attends a school that has administered the MAP exam in the last year, we can accept these results as an alternative to the ISEE or SSAT.  In this case, please ask the school to include the MAP report with the other academic records.
