A Pre-K-to-12th grade, coeducational, college-preparatory day school, the United Nations International School (UNIS) was established in 1947 by a group of United Nations parents to provide an international education for their children, while preserving their diverse cultural heritages.

The United Nations International School offers a rigorous, age-appropriate, and culturally broad program for all students. We build curriculum that is clearly articulated against the standards, research-based, and infused with opportunities for student choice.

UNIS arts programs offer opportunities for studio practice, problem solving, and cultural investigation through classical and contemporary music, acting, directing, and playwriting, drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, computer graphics, and digital photography.

UNIS has an extensive Athletics program, running across three distinct seasons (Fall, Winter and Spring for students in 7th-12th grades, M3-Tut 4), and consists of 38 school teams.

UNIS offers a wide range of activities and experiences that can take our students around the corner or around the globe.At UNIS, our focus is on the whole child and thus students are encouraged to participate in a variety of travel programs, clubs, committees, publications, and community-service opportunities.
