Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging

DIVERSITY is a fact.
EQUITY is a choice.
INCLUSION is an action.
BELONGING is an outcome.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging

The core of who we are.

Belonging represents our commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive community where every student, family, and educator feels recognized, respected, and valued for who they are. It reflects our belief that learning and growth happen best when everyone feels a true sense of connection and purpose.

At UNIS, belonging is not just a value; it is a daily practice. It shapes how we learn together, celebrate our differences, and build meaningful relationships across cultures and backgrounds. Our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) initiatives focus on creating an environment where everyone can thrive, supported by a globally minded curriculum that honors each student’s culture and language, and by faculty and families who share traditions that enrich our community. Through everyday actions of listening, learning, and inclusion, we ensure that every member of the UNIS community feels seen and supported.

Why Belonging?

Belonging matters because it turns diversity, equity, and inclusion into lived experiences

It transforms our differences into sources of understanding and unity, helping students become compassionate global citizens who embody the values of the United Nations. At UNIS, we take pride in being a community where over 100 nationalities unite to learn, grow, and wholeheartedly say, "You belong here."
