The Board of Trustees at the United Nations International School (UNIS) is responsible for ensuring the fulfillment of the School’s mission and overseeing policies related to the governance and management of UNIS. Comprised of eighteen Trustees, the Board is appointed by the Secretary-General of the United Nations and operates under the UNIS By-Laws.
The Board’s work is primarily conducted through its various committees, which include Trustees, representatives from the School administration, members of the UNIS community, and other experts with specialized knowledge. These committees help guide strategic decisions, policy development, and the overall direction of UNIS’s international and IB-focused education programs.
