International Baccalaureate

IB Diploma candidates complete a cross-disciplinary selection of university-level courses. Students take three Standard Level (SL) courses and three Higher Level (HL) courses across six core subject groups:

• Language A
• Language B
• Individuals and Societies
• Experimental Sciences
• Mathematics
• The Arts or an approved elective 

In each class, students complete Internal Assessments (IAs)—in-depth research projects that encourage real-world application of learning. 

All Diploma candidates complete Theory of Knowledge (TOK), a unique course that explores how we construct and evaluate knowledge. Through collaborative inquiry, students examine complex philosophical questions and complete a TOK Exhibition, demonstrating their thinking through curated real-world objects. 
 

CAS requires students to engage in at least 150 hours of creative, active, and service-oriented experiences, many of which address global challenges. Students also design a CAS Project, a month-long collaborative initiative that builds leadership and project-management skills while supporting personal growth.
 

In their final year, students conduct an independent research investigation and write a 4,000-word Extended Essay. With guidance from a faculty mentor, students develop university-level research, writing, and analytical skills while exploring a topic of personal interest.

Each IB course culminates in a standardized IB Examination, typically held in April or May, scored on a scale from 1 to 7. Many universities grant credit for strong scores, allowing some students to enter college with advanced standing—sometimes up to a full year ahead.
 

Students earn the International Baccalaureate Diploma by achieving at least 24 total points through their exam scores, Extended Essay, TOK assessments, and successful completion of CAS.
