Experience Music at UNIS

Music at UNIS provides students with opportunities to explore, create, perform, and connect through a rich and diverse musical experience.

From Junior School through Tutorial House, students develop musical skills, focus, confidence, a sense of community and belonging, and a lifelong appreciation for music.

Perform, Collaborate, and Grow

Through chorus, bands, and string ensembles, students learn the value of collaboration, perseverance, artistic expression, and finding their own voice. Beginning in M1 (5th grade), students can choose from a wide range of instruments, including flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, french horn, euphonium, percussion, violin, and cello, with opportunities to further explore guitar and voice.

Students regularly share their work through performances both at school and beyond, including appearances at venues such as David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and outdoor summer concerts.

Private Music Lessons

A unique feature of the UNIS Music program is our Private Music Lesson Program.

Offered as an extra-curricular opportunity and as a co-curricular component for music students in M2 (6th grade) and above, private lessons support and enrich classroom and ensemble learning.

Find Your Musical Voice

Whether singing in a chorus, performing in an ensemble, studying music theory, exploring sound design and production, or pursuing IB Music, students are encouraged to discover their musical voice and experience the joy of making music together.
