Model UN
Welcome to UNISMUNC VIII
The student-run conference of the United Nations School for students across the tri-state area, organized and hosted by the UNIS Model UN Club.
UNISMUNC is UNIS Model UN’s flagship conference, coordinated and hosted entirely by the students of the UNIS MUN Club for students all over New York and throughout the tri-state area. This year marks the eigth annual conference, UNISMUNC VIII to be held on December 4, 2022.
UNISMUNC is renowned for its challenging and stimulating debates, and engaging committees. UNISMUNC VIII will host five General Assemblies and three Crises in which students will discuss pressing issues surrounding the protection of youth in armed conflict and the future of global stability as a result of the current pandemic, among several other topics. UNIS Model UN takes pride in being able to provide students with a high-quality, educational experience and despite the remote setup, this remains the goal of UNISMUNC VIII.
During past conferences, delegates have heard from influential figures in international relations, politics, and diplomacy. It is part of UNISMUNC tradition to host prominent and experienced leaders in world affairs as guest speakers. Key decision-makers such as Former UN Secretary General Mr. Ban Ki-moon and Former US Ambassador Mrs Samantha Power have broadened students’ understanding of diplomacy and resolution-finding.
In the spirit of promoting negotiation, consensus building and international awareness, UNISMUNC VIII will be an unforgettable experience.
We look forward to having you at UNISMUNC VIII!
