General Assemblies
General Assembly committees are integral parts of the United Nations General Assembly, where representatives from all member states come together to discuss and address global issues. These committees focus on a wide range of topics, including peace and security, human rights, development, and international law. Each committee specializes in a specific area, allowing for in-depth discussions and the development of resolutions that reflect the collective will of the international community. Through debate, negotiation, and collaboration, General Assembly committees work to promote international cooperation and find solutions to the most pressing challenges facing the world today. These committees are the largest in size and we recommend them for newer delegates but can be suitable for all experience levels.

Topic: Economic Development in Post-Conflict Nations

Enter this year's ECONFIN Committee to discuss economic development in Middle Eastern nations emerging from conflicts. In the last decade, several countries within this region have faced multiple wars, which have hurt their economic development and placed them into extreme debt. Delegates in ECOFIN would be tasked with developing innovative solutions that reduce deficits, build up modern infrastructure, re-establish industries, and increase trade to improve the economies of Middle Eastern nations.

This committee will be about "sex work and prostitution," focusing on human rights, public health, and gender inequality aspects. Delegates will explore decriminalization/criminalization and work to find solutions that protect sex workers from exploitation and abuse. This committee will aim to create policies that promote safety and equality for sex workers, while considering the different cultural and legal perspectives of different countries involved.

Topic: Synthetic Drugs and Dark Web Trafficking: A New Age of Narcotics

With darknet platforms like HydraNet fueling a silent global epidemic of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and synthetic substances, no region is untouched — from Western superpowers to Africa and South East Asia. Delegates must act before synthetic trafficking networks evolve beyond any nation’s control. This session calls on countries to confront chemical regulation gaps, digital enforcement failures, and the humanitarian cost of inaction before the crisis spirals even further.

Topic: Mitigating Trade Tensions through Tariff Reform and Multilateral Economic Cooperation

This committee will be about the current issue of tariffs between US, China, Canada, and most of Europe. The current tensions of imposing tariffs and unfair trade barriers between countries is potentially creating global war and a protectionist economy, the UNCTAD with the help of all nations cooperation can help build long lasting agreements to end the current disputes and future tensions of trade that benefit everybody.
Crisis Committees
Crisis Committees are dynamic and fast-paced environments within Model United Nations that simulate high-stakes, often fictional and fantastical scenarios. Delegates are thrust into urgent, imaginative situations—ranging from political upheavals and natural disasters to fantastical events and fictional crises—where quick decision-making and strategic thinking are crucial. As these scenarios evolve in real time, participants must adapt their strategies, collaborate with others, and respond to unexpected developments. Delegates can also communicate outside of the committee through crisis notes in these committees. These committees challenge delegates to handle pressure and devise creative solutions, offering a unique and engaging approach to problem-solving within a fantastical or historical context. These are also especially suitable for experienced delegates.

Topic: The V.F.D. Emergency Summit on Ethics, Power, and Survival

The V.F.D., once founded to protect knowledge and prevent disaster, has fractured between idealists and pragmatists. As the organization faces internal collapse, public distrust, and the rising influence of Count Olaf’s faction, an emergency summit is called in the Mortmain Mountains. With the orphans scattered and tensions high, delegates must confront whether V.F.D. can be saved, and at what moral cost, before the Baudelaires vanish and chaos escalates.

Topic: A Rift in the Spider-Verse Space-Time Continuum

Rising tensions, terrifying new threats, will the Spider-Verse remain unified, or will it unweb under the pressure?

Topic: Dissolution and Diplomacy in the Balkans

In 1991, the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia begins to collapse under the weight of growing nationalism, economic instability, and rising ethnic tensions. As Slovenia and Croatia declare independence, the fragile unity of the Balkans shatters, and a complex web of conflict, diplomacy, and violence unfolds. The future of the Balkans and the credibility of global diplomacy rests in delegates’ hands.

This Joint-Crisis Committee will focus on the Revolutionary War that shaped the American Country as known today. One committee will be the British royals, and the other will be the American patriots. The committee begins with the Boston Tea Party, creating high tensions. The two committees would try to find a peaceful solution to the problem.
Specialized Committees
Specialized committees are similar to the traditional General Assembly (GA) format of a committee, except that instead of countries, delegates will represent different entities or characters. Specialized issues often focus on different formats of delegates (e.g., politicians or companies). Some issues that can be found within our conference include threats of nuclear war, the fall of famous empires, tariff wars, and newly discovered viruses affecting the global population.

Topic: Cheong Ah-Lum’s Poison Trial and Hong Kong’s Economy in Crisis

Britain has just won the First Opium War (1839-1842), so representatives from the British Empire and the Qing Dynasty convene in a lengthy negotiation. Britain's primary goals are to secure unrestricted trade rights, especially in opium, tea, and silk, demand war reparations, and most importantly, secure Hong Kong Island as a British port. The Qing Dynasty's goals to reduce territorial loss, contain the opium trade, and preserve the dynasty's rule. What will be the fate of Hong Kong? Will it fall into colonial hands, or can sovereignty be preserved?

Topic: COVID-19 Crisis

This committee will explore the COVID-19 Pandemic, specifically Biden's inheritance of the crisis. Delegates will have to navigate through the rough scene of this pandemic, finding solutions to aid in its mediation. Delegates will engage in profound discussions revolving how to stabilize economic recovery, restore public trust in institutions, and coordinate a proper response to the emergency.

Topic: The merciless punishment or honorable praise of Brutus, Cassius and the conspirators who assassinated Julius Caesar

Rome has fallen into chaos, after the Roman Republic’s dictator Julius Caesar was assassinated by his 60 fellow senators as part of a conspiracy led by Marcus Junius Brutus and Gaius Cassius Longinus. As political tensions between the people of Rome alongside politicans greaten, delegates and members of the Roman Senate must address the pressing consequences following the death of Julius Caesar.

Topic: The Cuban Missile Crisis

It's October 1962. The United States Air Force has discovered Soviet missiles and missile construction sites in Cuba, just 90 miles of the coast of Florida. The USSR has denied the presence of any offensive weapons and Cuba's priorities lie in self-defense and maintaining sovereignty. The UN Secretary General has called for an emergency, unprecedented, closed door session between the US, USSR, Cuba, and a few other relevant players. The council must act quick to avoid imminent nuclear danger.
