UNIS Model United Nations (MUN)

UNIS Model UN was founded in 2014 by UNIS student, Valentina Valenza, with the first conference, UNISMUNC I, taking place in December 2014. Since then, it has grown into one of the largest clubs at UNIS and a highly respected High School Model UN Conference.

Our Goals

The goal of UNISMUNC is to challenge and engage students in debates about past, present, and future global issues. Model UN is a simulation of the United Nations where students take on the roles of country delegates, debating and negotiating international issues much like real diplomats. Some committees are historical or fantastical crisis simulations that encourage creativity and collaboration. No matter the committee, Model UN gives students the opportunity to strengthen their research, negotiation, and public speaking skills while broadening their perspectives.

At UNIS Model UN, we deeply value our connection to the United Nations itself. Over the past decade, our club has welcomed UN delegates as speakers at UNISMUNC and club meetings, inspiring students through their work to create a better world. We hope our members and conference delegates leave with that same inspiration to make a meaningful difference themselves.
