Though UNISMUNC is a tech-free conference, electronic devices are permitted to write resolutions and directives during unmoderated caucuses. So essentially, yes we encourage delegates to bring laptops.

Delegates are encouraged to bring a water bottle and an extra pen or pencil. Paper and pens will be provided!

Position papers are an exceptional way to reinforce a country’s views on a matter. Though optional at UNISMUNC, preparing position papers for a better chance at winning awards is recommended.

If your chosen committee is accepting position papers, it is best to send the position paper directly to the chair and dias. The contact information of the chair and dias should be located in the background guide. 

Position papers are due December 1st 2024.

We will send out a form to the email provided once registration is complete.

UNISMUNC requires delegates to keep attire business formal, and dress in western business attire. Examples can include professional dresses, skirts, dress pants, blouses, suits, dress shirts, etc. 

At our conference, it is often that we see delegates wearing suits with ties. Though the attire is traditionally seen more on men, wearing a tie is entirely optional and not limited by gender.

Yes. Accessories are accepted so long as they are minimal. Examples could include simple necklaces, rings, or headbands. While we adore seeing the fashion sense of every delegate, we advise you not to wear flashy accessories that could take attention away from you as a delegate.

If suits are indispensable, wearing business casual outfits would be the best option. Examples include slacks, blazers, collared shirts, etc.

Please refrain from anything you would not see at a formal event. Attire such as graphic t-shirts, sweatpants, tank tops, flashy accessories, and sportswear are examples of attire we discouraged at UNISMUNC.
