Nepal Club Releases New Video Highlighting Sanjeevani Students

To increase awareness of the Halede children and help raise money for the meal program and the construction of a new school, UNIS student Skylar Jennings made this short video. Skylar is a member of the Nepal Club and has traveled to Nagarkot to teach the students at Sanjeevani School English and Math.

The Nepal Club was started at UNIS in 2014. Members of the club participate in the annual Nepal Trip which takes the students to Nagarkot, Nepal to teach at Sanjeevani School. UNIS students teach the Nepali students English, Math as well as create arts and play sports.

In addition to the trip, the club also raises money for the meal plan they started at Sanjeevani School in 2015. It costs $3,000 American Dollars to feed 60 children lunch for the entire school year. Since the meal program started, attendance at the school has risen 25%. Without the meal program, the average student at the school would not have their first meal until around 9 pm at night.
