OCTOBER 1, 2018

Thank you to all who came out last Wednesday for Curriculum Evening. Parents play a critical role in developing children's learning habits. Students benefit from strengthening the connection between home and school and our students' success is a joint priority.

I hope to see many of you on Thursday at our "Welcome Evening - Talk and Tapas", which will be an opportunity for our community to come together and just enjoy one another's company. We will celebrate UN Day on the 19th and this standing room only assembly is a highlight of the year!

Thank you again for your continued support of our campus.

Barbara Kennedy.

Quiet Area Tree

You may notice that the very large tree in the quiet area is no longer there. The beautiful, old tree needed to be removed for safety reasons. We had some heavy rain and wind 2 weeks ago, and 2 days later, a large branch came down, landing on the fence between the school and our neighbor's property. We blocked the area off for a few days to see if any other branches would fall. Early last week, on a sunny day with hardly any wind, another very large branch suddenly came down. As the area was still blocked off, no one was in danger. We had a tree service come and examine the tee and it was determined that it was a safety hazard and that the children would have to be barred from that area if the tree remained. With safety always as a first consideration for our students, the decision was made to remove the tree, which was done last Saturday.
