Model UN, a Student's Reflection
Model UN, a Student's Reflection

On April 23, ten members of the Tutorial House Model UN club attended the Dalton School's Model United Nations Conference (DMUN). Over 700 delegates attended the conference this year. There was a total of eight committees, such as the Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC), Historical General Assembly, World Trade Organization (WTO), and Commission for Social Development (CSOCD). Some of the global issues that were debated are child trafficking, extrajudicial killings in counter terrorism operations, and money laundering.

This conference gave the UNIS students a chance to develop their public speaking and diplomacy skills. Also, the students got to learn about important global issues and how to develop solutions for these issues. Mir A. (T3) was awarded a Verbal Commendation for his representation of Alexander Guchkov in the Road to October committee.

We are very proud of our delegates and all of their achievements. We would like to thank Ms. Watt for her support during this conference.
