On May 13th and 14th, 14 members of the Tut House Model UN club participated in UNA-USA's GCIMUN. The delegates improved their debate, public speaking and many other skills used to resolve issues happening around the world all the time. More than 1,000 students from around the world participated in this conference and UNIS delegates represented Turkmenistan in many of the committees including; the CND, UNHCR, UNESCO, FAO and more. Students debated issues from how to combat money laundering to how to feed 9 billion people by 2050.
Congratulations to the following students for being awarded:
Ellie Smith and Paloma D. (T1) - Best Country Statement - CND
Anoushka J. (T1) and Erik L. (T3) - Best Country Statement - UNHCR
GCIMUN was an excellent opportunity for members of UNIS model UN. It was an exciting and fun experience that we will all remember. We would all like to thank Ms. Watt, Ms. Ladani and Mr. Bassene for all of their help, as we would not be able to have an active MUN club without them.
